Award-Winning Project

Posted by Flyhouse on May 31, 2017 10:38:45 AM

In the summer of 2016, Flyhouse was part of a $52 million renovation project at Lane Tech High School, the largest high school in Chicago with 4,500 students.

On May 23, 2017 project General Contractor, Tyler Lane Construction Inc received two awards for the work done on this project at the Chicago Building Congress’ annual Merit Awards dinner; the Owner’s Choice Award and the Rehab Construction Award.

While we may have only been a small part of the project, we are honored to be in good company along with everyone else making this project a reality.

Macy's Flag Raising

Posted by Flyhouse on May 26, 2017 12:00:26 PM

While the tradition of having a flag hang in Macy's (previously Marshall Fields building) atrium began in 1916, Chicago Flyhouse has assisted in making the flag happen since 2003. Hanging over seven stories high, the flag is an amazing site to behold. See the video below to get a quick glimpse of how we made it happen.

2017 Michael Merritt Awards

Posted by Flyhouse on May 16, 2017 1:32:27 PM

Theater and film is a collaborative effort. While the actors of a performance are front and center for an audience, behind the scenes is where a performance is born.

The Merritt Awards for Excellence in Design and Collaboration held on May 15 proved this to be true. The Merrit Awards, a national award unique in its emphasis on excellence in both design and collaboration, is presented annually to professional theatrical designers in the categories of scenic, costume, lighting, sound, and other media designs.

In being part of this collaborative effort of a community we are passionate about, Flyhouse sponsored two of the awards presented during the evening: The Emerging Technical Collaborator Award and The Robert Christen Award.

Congratulations to CoCo Ree Lemery for receiving the Emerging Technical Collaborator Award and Narda E. Alcorn for receiving The Robert Christen Award for Excellence in Technical Collaboration.

Next Stop: Detroit

The Motor City. Birthplace of Motown. Home to the only floating Post Office in the U.S. Call it what you want, but Flyhouse is setting up shop for a few months in Detroit for a new arena project.

The Little Caesar’s Arena, scheduled to open September 2017, will serve as the new home of the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Pistons, and other entertainment events.

By the time the puck drops for the Red Wings, Flyhouse will have installed over 100,000 square feet of an acoustical baffle system along with the upper masking, half-house, and blackout curtains for the entire arena.

Make sure to follow our Facebook and Instagram pages to see updates on all Flyhouse projects happening.
