Located in northeast Georgia, Black Bear Dinner Theater is a high-end resort producing large-scale musicals on a smaller staging area. With limited fly space, Black Bear needed the ability to make dramatic scenic changes without losing stage room, and Chicago Flyhouse was called in to install four automated roll tubes for backdrop quick changes.
Flyhouse faced a particular challenge on this project as one of the tubes was damaged during shipping, but the malfunction didn’t surface during installation checks. The tube was already in use by the theater for its current production when Flyhouse was notified of the problem.
The Flyhouse team immediately returned to Georgia and had a new tube installed within four days – seamlessly correcting the issue while allowing the company to keep its performance schedule.
