For their exhibit ‘Flight,’ the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry called on Chicago Flyhouse to create a rigged display showing a full-scale glider in flight.
To safely support the glider’s weight load, Flyhouse discreetly penetrated the ceiling of the exhibit hall and anchored the rigging directly into the building’s concrete infrastructure. Prior to installation, an on-site load test was conducted for approval by the project’s engineers.
The final design was both aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound.
