For the launch of their new high-tech, interactive permanent exhibit Science Storms, Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry called on Chicago Flyhouse to create a dramatic curtain unveiling at the West Court entrance where the exhibit is housed.

Working with MSI’s fabrics shop to create a 75′ long curtain, Flyhouse designed, fabricated, and installed a motorized high speed roller which was mounted into the existing ceiling structure to be completely invisible from below.

The enormous curtain completely obscured the archway leading into the West Court, dissapearing on cue during the opening ceremonies presentation, and dissapearing into the ceiling bay in under three seconds. Watch the reveal at the :42 mark in our video.

Flyhouse is proud to have been part of the launch of this spectacular new exhibit
