Although Shakespeare has been around for centuries, Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s performance of Sunday in the Park with George wouldn’t be!
With the show running for three months, Chicago Flyhouse had the task of designing and fabricating a three axis rigging system rented by the theater for the duration.
The system would become an integral part of the show as it allowed a 20’ x 20’ picture frame to be placed in multiple vertical positions and angles during the performance.
To accomplish the project, Flyhouse fabricated and installed tracks, tracking and hoisting motors and an I-RIG control system. The tracking motor created the angular lifting effect while the I-RIG provided the automation to control the entire effect.
Training and SAFER VENUE inspection services were provided for the safety and effective use of the system for a picture perfect performance.
