Theater and film is a collaborative effort. While the actors of a performance are front and center for an audience, behind the scenes is where a performance is born.
The Merritt Awards for Excellence in Design and Collaboration held on May 15 proved this to be true. The Merrit Awards, a national award unique in its emphasis on excellence in both design and collaboration, is presented annually to professional theatrical designers in the categories of scenic, costume, lighting, sound, and other media designs.
In being part of this collaborative effort of a community we are passionate about, Flyhouse sponsored two of the awards presented during the evening: The Emerging Technical Collaborator Award and The Robert Christen Award.
Congratulations to CoCo Ree Lemery for receiving the Emerging Technical Collaborator Award and Narda E. Alcorn for receiving The Robert Christen Award for Excellence in Technical Collaboration.
