Our crew certainly earned their sea legs in 2023! During the second half of the year, Flyhouse completed a major refit of performer hoists on six Celebrity Cruises ships as well as the Celebrity Cruises Entertainment Studio in North Miami, Florida.
As we cruise into 2024, Flyhouse will soon begin the next round of service on all of those hoists—more than 40 total across all ship installations are in the queue this year.
Just as essential, our team is well into our next round of training. We are training onboard Royal Caribbean Cruises, and working with Celebrity Cruises to develop new training initiatives. The cruise industry is navigating an influx of new staff following layoffs and departures during the Covid-19 pandemic. Flyhouse training informs and reinforces essential safety in those fleets, providing operational safety concepts for entertainment venues, and teaching new staff the common language to discuss safety issues.
BY THE NUMBERS – Cruise Ship Snapshot:
- 43 performer hoists, inspected and maintained, on 16 venues—13 ships, 3 studios on land
- 31 ships, performed safety and operations training
- 46 ships projected in 2024
- 1,350 people, trained on ships in the past year
- 3000-4000 projected trainees in 2024
We also respond to necessary repairs or specialized requests as they arise, keeping cruise industry clients part of our everyday workload. We strive to be adaptable in responding to these as-needed demands. And we’re proud that our training delivers a baseline of safety information to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. We look forward to sailing through another year of service and training with our cruise ship partners!
