We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Metal Shop Apprentice to join the Flyhouse growing team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with an experienced specialty fabricator on a wide range of custom projects — including the fabrication and assembly of custom hoisting equipment. The right candidate will gain hands-on experience and develop advanced skills in metalworking, fabrication, and shop operations.

What you'll do
- Assist in the fabrication and assembly of custom metal products and equipment
- Learn to work with a wide range of materials including steel and aluminum
- Support daily shop operations including measuring, cutting, drilling, and fitting components
- Use tools and equipment such as:
- CNC brake and CNC waterjet
- MIG and TIG welders
- Lathe, mill, punch, and shear
- Various hand and power tools
- Follow project plans and drawings under the guidance of a lead fabricator
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
What we're looking for
- Basic experience working with metal in a metal shop setting
- Comfortable using measuring tools, saws, drills, grinders, and other equipment
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and develop advanced fabrication skills over time
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a solid work ethic
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
- Safety-conscious and mechanically inclined
- High school diploma or GED preferred
