After months of planning and preparation, Flyhouse will begin installation next week at the Fishers Event Center in Fishers, Indiana, about 20 miles northeast of Indianapolis.
Our team is familiar with tight timelines, and this project is no different: We have six weeks to complete our work, a window of time between when the venue is temperature controlled and before the ice floor starts its layout.
While Fishers Event Center isn’t the largest project in our portfolio, the 76 foot tall arena’s ceiling measures a remarkable 60,000+ square feet. This project required ingenuity in both design and installation techniques in order to access and cover nearly 80% of the entire ceiling surface, and achieve the acoustic absorption needed in this space.
Our crew continues to coordinate extensively with other trades like fire protection and mechanical systems, ensuring that our acoustical baffle placement isn’t in conflict.
BY THE NUMBERS:
- 1260 horizontal acoustical panels
- 47,424 square feet of ceiling coverage
- 824 linear feet of verticals surrounding the bowl floor
- 4272 custom beam clips and wire hangers are planned for connection points
- 366 custom hoisting bags will be used
- 7,500 seat capacity
The venue, home to Indy Fuel Hockey Club of the East Coast Hockey League, Indy Ignite of the Professional Volleyball Federation, and Fishers Freight of the Indoor Football League, is scheduled to open in November 2024.
