Next week we’ll be joining industry friends at the 64th USITT Annual Conference & Stage Expo in Seattle, March 20-23, 2024. As the United States Institute for Theatre Technology, Inc. describes their annual event:
USITT24 is bringing you the education, networking, recruitment opportunities, and the Expo floor you love along with reimagined all-attendee events, our industry's latest and greatest technology, and even more interactive labs and professional development than ever before!
We’re especially thrilled that Flyhouse will have a larger presence at USITT than ever!
Project Manager John Gruber will be onsite as part of the Stage Management Mentor Project, offering practical training experience to mentees at this high-profile event. Sales Manager Benjamin Cohen and other Flyhouse crew will be connecting with attendees on the show floor—look for the Flyhouse logo and say hello!
For the second year, Head Trainer Ed Leahy will be leading a class with Flyhouse friend Ethan Gilson of Entertainment Rigging Services. Foundations of Entertainment Rigging (USITT Special Events) presents the essential concepts of stage rigging practices. The two-day course will connect early career folks with more experienced professionals in conversations about putting these concepts to use. Participants will receive enough ETCP renewal credits for certified riggers to meet their continuing education requirement in one class. Register now to join Ed and Ethan next Wednesday and Thursday, 3/20-21!
But the most exciting Flyhouse attendee is our ZipLift x300 Hoist, which will be featured in the Automation Lab near the USITT24 show floor. Some features of our ZipLiftx300:
- Zero-Fleet Head Block
- Compact size designed to fi t in the most small and hard to reach locations
- Designed to lift 400 lbs with a 10:1 safety factor
- Options available to increase capacity
- Various exit blocks available including straight out and turn left/right, straight down with balanced left/right swivel, or custom to meet desired application
- May be mounted in any configuration with any number of standard or custom brackets
We can’t wait to catch up with old friends and make new connections at our favorite industry event of the year. Hope to see you there!
