Theatrical Rigging

‘Tis the Season

December 9, 2024

Oh what fun it’s been to work with the Philadelphia Ballet on a cool effect for their current production of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker.   In the final scene of the ballet, the children fly away from the Land of Sweets in a walnut boat, waving to their new friends as curtain falls. On the Catwalk

September 24, 2024

The Flyhouse team recently returned to Chicago Shakespeare Theater to help provide a unique flying effect for their current performance of Henry V. Our conversations began over the summer with the theater’s technical team about how to incorporate this flying effect into their upcoming production. Knowing the space in this venue’s catwalks can be challenging, and always mindful of […]

The Flyhouse crew was back in recent weeks at the Center’s Sheldon Patinkin Theatre. While the pipe grid we installed in this black box space isn’t the largest in our portfolio, it brought unique set of challenges. Our crew […]

Local Upgrade

May 6, 2024

A recent project has kept our crew close to home: Chicago’s historic Athenaeum Center, located near the intersection of Southport and Lincoln Avenues in the Lakeview neighborhood. The venue, which opened in 1911, is Chicago’s oldest operating theater outside of the downtown Loop area. As part of recent updates, our crew provided three new 50’ […]
